Kitchener-Waterloo Oldtimers' Hockey Club Inc.

About the K-W Oldtimers

This league of hockey teams is for men 35 years of age and older, playing up to 2 games per week, approximately 45 games in total, from about October through March each year. There are currently 30 teams in 5 different divisions. Placement in a division is based on age and ability.

All games are local and are played Monday to Thursday evenings with game start times ranging from 6:30 to 10:30 pm.

There are no slapshots allowed and body checking is prohibited. Each game is overseen by two referees.

2011-2012 Application Form

GAME PREPARATION

Pre-game warm up - stretch, skate a few laps and then stretch again.

Don't eat a large meal or drink alcohol before a game.

Notify your captain of medical conditions (strokes/heart attacks, high blood pressure, diabetes, previous injuries, etc.) in case anything happens during the game.

Notify your captain of the medications you are allergic to, in a medical emergency paramedics need this information.

CPR & AED Training

The free St. John Standard First Aid with CPR A + AED (Adult) training course for our members was a great success. We had 20 participants who are now First Aid certified and this is a benefit to our league. We'll be running the course next year and hope to see you there.

Blood Donation

The final number of donations for the 2011 time period was 37. It just goes to show how many people are doing good things as part of their normal living. Good for all the donors. We have increased the donations to 75 for 2012.

This is a charity tournament and the net proceeds are used to benefit local needs.
